IASSIST 2027 will be held in person in Vancouver, Canada, on May 25-28, 2027 to engage, connect, and collaborate around the theme of Transforming Data Practices. IASSIST<https://iassistdata.org/> (the International Association for Social Science Information Services and Technology) is an international organization of professionals working with information technology and data services to support research and teaching.

See the full text of our Call for Proposals<https://iassistdata.org/conferences/iassist2027/call-for-proposals/>, and for more information on the conference, please keep a watch on the conference website<https://iassistdata.org/conferences/iassist2027/> which will be updated as details fall into place.

This year’s theme invites data and data services professionals to share how their practices are adapting to artificial intelligence, budget and funding challenges, climate considerations, and the changing realities of academic and research institutions.

We welcome proposals in the following formats:

  • Individual presentation: a 15-minute talk, grouped with similar presentations into a session.
  • Paper competition: an original research paper, due April 15, 2027. You may present your paper at the conference, but it is not required to enter the competition.
  • Panel: a full session of 90 to 120 minutes with at least three speakers.
  • Poster or demonstration
  • Lightning talk: a 5-minute talk with a maximum of 15 slides.
  • Workshop: a half-day session, with 2-hour and 3-hour options.

Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words and written for a general audience. We ask that submitters limit themselves to one proposal per format type.
