For me, Google Messages is more than an inbox. From asking my husband what to cook for dinner to coordinating plans with friends and family, this app has quietly become one of those apps I reach for without even thinking. Because so much of my daily communication happens there, even small features can make a noticeable difference.

If you use Google Messages as often as I do, here are the features that make everyday conversations less complicated. My husband was right — Google Messages really does feel like a complete package.

Google Keep integration

My chats are no longer my to-do list

“Remember the name of that restaurant we liked?” is the kind of question that can send me scrolling through months of messages. Between addresses, ideas, links, and things I tell myself I’ll remember later, my conversations can quickly become a storage box for information I actually need. That’s where Google Keep comes in.

When someone sends me something worth saving, I can save that particular message directly into Google Keep rather than leaving it buried in the chat. This has become even more useful in group chats because, let’s be honest, every group chat is chaos. Someone is making weekend plans, sending a link, or sharing a recommendation. Instead of scrolling back later, I tap the + icon in the chat, choose Google Keep, and boom — it’s saved. My chats can stay chaotic, but not my to-do list.

Location Sharing

No addresses, directions, or explanations needed

I usually meet my friends at a crowded mall, airport, or unfamiliar café, and this can quickly turn into a game of “Where exactly are you?” Tell me honestly, isn’t it frustrating to say “I’m here, turn left, then go behind that building…” a million times? And with plans changing at the last minute, sending an address isn’t always enough.
