US Supreme Court rejects challenge to California redistricting effort

The United States Supreme Court has ruled in favor of a California redistricting measure meant to net the Democratic Party more congressional seats, rejecting a challenge from the state Republican Party.
There was no dissent in Wednesday’s decision, and the conservative-majority court did not offer any explanation for its decision.
