Save the date! We are delighted to announce the 2026 ALSC Charlemae Hill Rollins President’s Program: Picture Books for All: Celebrating the Joy of Visual Literacy. This special event will take place on the afternoon of Monday, June 29 at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago, IL. This year’s Program will be a community-centered celebration of the artistry and power of picture books for all ages. A panel of distinguished picture book creators (to be announced) will speak with historian and moderator Leonard S. Marcus about all things visual literacy. Everyone who attends this program will also be afforded opportunities to engage with others from the children’s literature ecosystem (authors, illustrators, editors, librarians, educators, critics, and more) as we explore the format together.
