Americans understand that due process matters.
As much trouble as pro-democracy forces have had breaking through with the message that that protecting the Republic is the most important issue we face, increasingly, it looks like there is some success. From the Iowa townhall where citizens harangued Senator Grassley to Saturday’s protests where people across the country stood up for due process, it’s increasingly clear that Americans get it.
Still to come: how we get the message across to elected officials, especially Republicans, who are trying to hold on to the hope that voters will let this go. Bad news for them: We won’t.
In Anchorage, Alaska, one protestor carried a sign that read, “Make America Smart Again!” That’s what we’re here to do, fighting hate, prejudice, and ignorance about how democracy works with an understanding of the rule of law and democracy.
Here are some photos from across the country. I love how we are all sharing them, the big ones and even, maybe especially, the small ones.
