We love offering passive programs. More importantly, our patrons love having fun with our passive programs! From scavenger hunts to an I Spy aquarium, here are some ideas that have proven successful for us. Scavenger Hunts Our scavenger hunts are fairly straightforward: we put a variety of images around the Youth Services Department, have pencils and handouts at the ready, and let the kids search to their heart’s content. We’ve done scavenger hunts for celebrations such as Pride Month and Dot Day, as well as hunts featuring storybook characters, winter holidays, pirates, and many more. We typically have stickers or some small reward for finishing the hunt (or just getting close). Department-wide Paths Sometimes our passive program will be a bit more elaborate.
