SAN DIEGO — With construction complete nearly 16 months ago on San Diego’s nine-story downtown library, city officials say they’re ready to resume replacing some outdated branch libraries with much larger versions.
The first four branches in the pipeline are Skyline Hills, which is scheduled for a groundbreaking this summer, Mission Hills/Hillcrest, scheduled for construction in 2016, San Carlos and San Ysidro.

Speaking outloud, ignore the naysayers in the comments. Libraries will co-exist with electronic and digital options in the 21st Century and beyond, and their place in communities served is growing, not diminishing..
