CHARLOTTE, N.C. — (AP) North Carolina education leaders approved changing the grading scale for high schools in the state.
The state Board of Education is switching to a 10-point range for each letter grade.
The state currently uses a 7-point scale, meaning an A is 100 to 93, a B is 92 to 85 and so forth, with a grade below 70 earning an F.
The new scale would mean 100 to 90 would be an A. A failing grade would be anything below 60.
