There’s just a few more weeks until ALA Annual! Are you feeling ready for the conference? As of this moment, there are 1,316 programs listed on its online schedule. While it’s incredible that there are so many different possibilities to explore, navigating and deciding what you want to do and see may present a bit of a challenge. Voila, here are some highlights of the presentations ALSC is sponsoring that caught my attention for your perusal!

Monday, June 30, 2025 at 9:00 AM

Feel like enhancing your library’s tutoring program or getting advice on how to start one? Discover an initiative that allows you to partner with local organizations while helping students overcome the knowledge gap that’s impacted them even five years after the pandemic.

Alas, I won’t be attending this year’s conference. If you’re in the same boat, please join the ALSC Membership Committee for a We Are ALSC Chat: ALA Annual FOMO virtual gathering on Wednesday, June 25th at 3:00 PM EST. We’ll commiserate on how we’re not going to Philly, discuss inspiration from past conferences, and talk about what we’d like to see in future conference experiences. Hope to see you there!

This blog post relates to ALSC Core Competencies of: VII. Professionalism and Professional Development.

Ashley Bressingham (she/her) is the Librarian II/Children’s Room Assistant Supervisor at the New Rochelle Public Library and a Co-Chair of the ALSC Membership Committee.
