When you think of influencers, you may think of big-name celebrities or TikTok stars with millions of followers promoting Stanley cups, but library influencers exist too! Whether sharing stories and tips on storytime or letting us know their favorite kidlit books, they help library workers gain inspiration and educate others about our field.

Influencer-driven content also performs better than standard social media posts. According to a 2024 study from Aspire, 63% of marketers say influencer-generated content performs better than other brand-directed content.

Now ALA is looking to work with influencers, too! To help get the word out about ALA’s work, the ALA Communications, Marketing & Media Relations Office is collaborating with the Public Awareness Committee to expand engagement with social media influencers for various campaigns year-round.

If you have a favorite influencer, or if you’re an influencer yourself, you’re invite to submit your recommendation to ALA using this form. The preference is for influencers who are also ALA members, however recommendations for non-library worker influencers that support libraries are also welcome, especially if they are based near Philadelphia for this year’s Annual Conference.

We look forward to receiving your recommendations, and feel free to comment down below with your favorite library influencers as well!
